Text only - The included vB5 images are not displaying

Maybe someone can point me to a thread that discusses this same problem.

I’m not total new to vBulletin but I’m pretty inexperienced at this level. It is my first installation attempt so bear with me.

    New install.
After the install I can access the admincp. It displays great, initially anyhow.
The forum path http//www.mywebsite.com /forum appears to work, but it is text only and is not displaying any “factory” include graphics or images.
The URL of the forum http//www.mywebsite.com /core appears to be correctly configured. Changing it makes it fail even in the admincp, so I reverted back to http//www.mywebsite.com/core.
When I make a change in the admin CP and his save, it shows it successfully saves the settings. Then in the “Frame” it displays the forum text only. The left admincp menu is still there and using images/graphics. Clicking on a selection in the left menu displays a new screen of the options for that selection.
I copied the files to the server using filezilla. I found some references to the need to copy in binary format. I had not done that. I recopied the images folder using binary mode and it did not change it.

I blew away the install 100% and reinstalled it from scratch using the binary mode with the same results. So, I’m making the same mistake again!

I’m sure I’m missing something simple here. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks!

This is because your forums are off and a current bug is parsing that in the css.php file. You would have to turn your forums on to see the proper style.

            Wayne,
Sorry for the late reply. I just got back in. It does the same thing if it is turned on, that is the reason I went ahead and blocked it. I just turned it back on to double check.

Make sure the baseurl value of your /config.php is correct. If it is and the style still doesn't work. Open a support ticket please. http://www.vbulletin.com/go/techsupport

                "Open a support ticket please"

It did end up being a base url issue. Thanks for the assistance!

                    Since when?

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

I don't know where you saw that but that is completely incorrect. You have free ticket support until June 30, 2013 at least.

If you saw that on this site somewhere please let us know where so it can be corrected.
