    Clean Install Stuck on Step 2 of 7

    I am trying to install vBulletin 5.0.0 and I am unable to get passed step 2. I wiped everything off my server (host = hostrocket) and uploaded a fresh copy of vBulletin but still no luck.

    I changed my max_execution_time to 7200 (max_execution_time = 7200) to try and give the install script more time to execute.

    I noticed someone else had this issue: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...during-install

    But it looks like they are assuming it's host related, but I don't believe it is. I've had this issue on 2 different servers now. Any other solutions?

    Are you able to get any errors from the PHP log or server (http) log?

      I get the following error:

      [Fri Feb 22 04:11:56 2013] [error] [client **.**.***.***] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ap_content_length_filter: apr_bucket_read() failed, referer: http://***.com/Forum/core/install/install.php

      I called my host and they increased my max_execution_time and max_input_time to 7200. But it's still freezing on step 2. Also, I checked my database, the last table listed is "words",

        Woo hoo! Figured it out!!

        So aside from max_execution_time and max_input_time, you need to have your host change the apache timeout. It is usually defaulted at 30 seconds, so have them increase that and you should be able to install it.
