Message Center folder creation

I have a user on my forums which is a super mod who has created a "Hold" folder in the message center to move messages for storage until the issue is resolved. He is able to create the folder without issue but when he attempts to move anything into the folder he is getting a "Invalid Data" alert message. I am sure this just a permissions issue with the folder created but am unable to find out where to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.
