Issue to post a new subject

    Hi,

    Vbulletin 5.4.5 fresh install
    PHP 5.6.39
    MySQL 5.6.41
    Default style

    Firefox 64.0

The button New Topic does'nt work with the French Connect Language Pack 5.4.5 by default (downloaded from the Members Area). No problem with the English language, the button does work and I can post a new topic. No problem with 5.4.4 (the button New Topic does work in both languages).

    Regards

This could be due to an issue with not having a UTF-8 database and using UTF-8 characters in usernames. This breaks some of the encoding used for the Javascript. The most substantial fix is to convert your database to a UTF-8 character set and collation. We recommend using UTF8MB4 and either the utf8-general-ci or utf8-unicode-ci collations.

There are some changes to better support this coming in vBulletin 5.5.0. This should be released in the next few weeks.

For this forum, by default with cPanel/PHPMyAdmin, the database is UTF8MB4, utf8-general-ci collation.

      The details:

      cPanel/PHPMyAdmin
      General Settings
      Server connection collation: utf8mb4_unicode_ci

      Web Server Apache (cgi-fcgi)
      Server charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)

      Database server:
      Server: Localhost via UNIX socket
      Server type: MySQL
Server connection: SSL is not being used Documentation
Server version: 5.6.41 - MySQL Community Server (GPL)
      Protocol version: 10
      User: abcdxyz@localhost
      Server charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)

The charset in the French Connect Language Pack 5.4.5 downloaded from Members Area is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Right now, this forum 5.4.5 is useless for me if I can't use the forum in my own language.

      Any idea ?

You'll need to open a support ticket then.
