Custom stylevars default values

Hey!
I've added custom stylevars to my style, but the problem im having is that when I import the style to another forum the values are blank, and I need to manually add them again.
Not sure if I am missing a step?

As far as I am aware, custom style variables need to exist in the Site's MASTER Style in order to be usable in child styles.
