Which is better MySQL 5.7 or MariaDB 10.2

I use MySQL 5.7 and vBulletin 5.4.4

Do I upgrade to MariaDB 10.2 ?

Do you advise me to upgrade to MariaDB 10.2 ? And why?

MariaDB 10.2 is equivalent to MySQL 5.6 with some patches from 5.7 applied to it. If you switch to MariaDB, you'll want to use 10.3.

Other than that, they are functionally equivalent as far as vBulletin is concerned. In fact, vBulletin just assumes that you're still using MySQL after you switch.
