Cannot login to Admin CP after update vB to 5.4.4

    Hello,

I just updated my vBulltin to 5.4.4 and I cannot login to Admin CP. When I write good credentials I'm just rediredted to login page again. If I write bad credentials, then I got insormation that it is wrong and how many attempts I have left.

I made update also on my test forum and there it is working fine. On my real forum vB5 is linked to subdomain and login doesn't work. On my main domain I have vB4.

Also writing good credentials after bad credentials, restarts counder for bad credentials (what I can see in next bad approach), so I'm logged in, but still redirected to login form and not able to use Admin CP.

Can you login to the front end forums? Is it only the AdminCP into which you cannot login?

I do not know can I login to front end, because forum is turned off (as it should be during update) and I have changed templates (whcih I will not change again without Admin CP) and do not see login option on frontend.

No, but funny thing - now I'm seeing 3 login forms. So I have appropriate, based on frames Admin CP page, but each frame (header, menu, main) shows me login form instead of its content...

I'm not talking about my signature - I'm talking about my issues with vB 5.4.4.

If you don't have a "Remember Me" cookie and you have your forums turned off, you may be denied access to your site in this manner. This is especially true if you have set the Cookie Path and Cookie Domain values in the AdminCP. This is actually the security features of the software working against you.

You will want to take these steps.
                  1. Make sure /core/install is available on your server for this installation.
                  2. Upload tools.php from the /do_not_upload folder in your download package. Place it in /core/install.
                  3. Go to /core/install/tools.php on your site.
                  4. Enter you customer ID to access the tools.
                  5. Reset the Cookie Path
                  6. Reset the Cookie Domain
                  7. Then select the option to turn your site back on.
                  8. Delete the core/install directory
                  9. Log in to your site.

Did all those things (even that 5 and 6 was useless, because I already had default values there) - still not working. Cannot login (used booth URLs admincp and core/admincp), cannot bring my forum to live. It is 3 days already. I will add that all plugins are dissabled by config.php.

                    Other solutions?

You'll need to open a support ticket and provide access to the server so we can look at what is wrong.

How can I change my password to temporary, when I have no access to Admin CP? Where can I open the ticket? Is it paid service?

There is no way to change the password if you cannot log in. You can register a new users and use tools.php to promote them to an administrator.

Support for vBulletin 5 is a paid service. If you have a support contract, the link to submit a ticket is in the footer of every page on this forum or you can email [email protected].

But this is your software error - I have no issue on previous version - I need to pay you to solve your own bug?

Almost every company will charge a nominal fee for technical support. We tried resolving it already with the free option and that hasn't resolved the problem.

The issue is unique to your server and vBulletin installation so we need to know what is causing it. It is not a bug in the software itself. I have outlined the steps above to that would have rectified it if it was a problem with the software. Given that you said you followed the steps and it didn't resolve the issue, I have no idea why you cannot login. I have no problem logging in as an administrator in any other 5.4.4 installation that I have encountered. I have 4 of them of my own, not counting this site and we have many customers who have already upgraded without the problem.
