Site Builder 500 Internal Server Error is Fixed By Clearing the System Cache. Is there a Better Way to Do this?

We often get "ERROR, error_saving_channel_code | Error information: "500 error Internal Server Error" when trying to save things we edit using the site builder. When we get the error (and it happens a LOT), we go into the AdminCP and clear the system cache. After that, the edit can be saved without an error. Is there a setting we can change somewhere that will offer a better and more permanent fix for this?

A 500 Server Error is pretty generic and doesn't provide any information to actually fix issues. It often covers up other errors. What is the error while the site is in Debug Mode?
