I have the same problem
The Subject Order property by Date Created or Last Post has been deleted from the Control Panel.
I think it's a good thing to do and it's not useful. I hope you return this property.

This is not an option in the Article Display Module at this time. You can show articles by creation date using a Search module and setting the sort parameters appropriately.
