problem in decreasing size of attachment directory

after 4 month of migrating to vb5, size of attachment directory in my forum is up to 1.5 gig that is very much. vb4 compressed such directories by itself.
vb5 has any solutionfor decreasing size of attachment directory

vBulletin 4 had no mechanisms to compress attachment directories. It worked the same as vBulletin 5. The only way to decrease the size of the attachment directory is to delete attachments from your site.

so if i delet attachments from directory , so attachments in the post will delet. how can i manage it?

You should delete attachments from older posts and they'll be deleted from the directory.
