Can I use MySQL 8 with vBulletin 5.4. The documentation says 5.6 or higher, but I think the documentation predates MySQL 8.

We did some preliminary compatibility testing on a beta of MySQL 8 and it should work. If I recall the biggest issue is that some of our table names are now reserved words and we had to change how we handle them. However, we haven't tested the GA version yet.Translations provided by Google.

I am currently using MySQL 8.0.11 with vBulletin 5.4.2 Beta 2. I haven't experienced any issues as of yet.
As far as I am aware, PHP does not support the new authentication scheme in MySQL 8 as of this time. You will need to take this article into account: https://mysqlserverteam.com/upgradin...onsiderations/
