[Bug / Issue] Avatars, signatures, profile pictures not displaying after upgrade

After doing a test upgrading from 4.2.5 to 5.4.1, all the avatars, signatures, and profile pictures are not showing up. I'm on PHP 7.1.17.

    I copied:

    /home/xxxxx/public_html/customavatars
    /home/xxxxx/public_html/customprofilepics
    /home/xxxxx/public_html/signaturepics

    into

    /core

then ran the maintenance general update tools. Directory permissions are all 777, image files are 644.

For some reason, the avatars are still not showing up???

If you move them back into the forum root do they work?

Customprofilepics aren't used in vBulletin 5. I am pretty sure that signaturepics are stored as attachments in vBulletin 5 as well so they may need to be re-added. I don't remember if they are converted or not.

Hi Wayne, I copied them from the forum root to /core so they are located in both places. Not sure why they aren't showing up?

What is the path specified under Avatars -> User Picture Storage Type? That is where it is looking for the images at. Should only list customavatars. As I said, the other two directories aren't relevant in vBulletin 5.

Avatars are currently being served from the filesystem at /home/xxx/public_html/yyy/core/customavatars

That is what it says in that field?

You should try the default which is simply ./customavatars and refers to the /core/customavatars directory. It shouldn't need the entire explicit path. Will will probably change if you ever change servers.

Yes. It should be ./customavatars (not the leading period).

You're the BEST, Wayne! It's currently setup like this, refreshed the home page and the avatars work now!

Since /customprofilepics and /signaturepics directories aren't relevant in vBulletin 5. How do I go about copying/transferring all my users signature pics and profile pics to the new vB5 site and getting them to show?

You can't.. Profile Pictures are not a feature in vBulletin 5. Signature Pictures need to be re-added via the Signature Editor so they get proper attachment storage and valid node and file IDs.
