"Scheduled Date" advances a month forward on every article edit

Site is Forgedby4.com, running 5.4.1

I've noticed a strange issue - whenever an article is edited, the Scheduled Post date advances one month ahead. Something published today would have its scheduled date changed to 6/7 after an edit. If you keep editing, it will keep advancing (7/7 ... 8/7 ... etc).

Is this expected behavior, and if not - any idea how to stop this?

The work around is to change the date when editing the article.
