    RSS Feed error message

We have an RSS feed which works OK.

Yesterday I set up another one but when I try to preview it in the admin CP RSS feed set up I get the error message: XML Error: XML_ERR_NAME_REQUIRED at Line 336

I've double checked it against the settings in the other RSS feed and I can't see that I've missed anything.

Any ideas? We are on Cloud by the way.

    Thanks.

What did you enter for the feed name?

Do you mean the username set up for the feed to post as? If so it's Amazon RSS

That is an existing user in your database?

Yes, I created it specifically for this feed.

I just checked the permissions and as it is in the registered member user group it doesn't actually have permission to post in the Amazon and eBay feed section, but neither does the eBay RSS feed account and that posts quite regularly so it can't be that.

I've checked the link with Amazon Affiliates link checker and it is confirmed as a valid link although it only seems to go to books.

              I've now tried without bestseller:

it goes to camping items but I now get the same error in preview but with line 3 mentioned, again the link is confirmed as valid by Amazon Affiliates

              Thanks for your help btw.

Neither of those links are RSS feeds. They are fully rendered HTML. They wouldn't be usable in the RSS Feed Poster. RSS is a very specific document format.

                  Ok thanks Wayne.

I've obviously misunderstood the info I got from here

It explained about building specific RSS URL links.

I will do some more research.

                  Thanks for your help.

They must be using some sort of agent detection to try and determine if the link is an RSS Reader. vBulletin accesses RSS as a browser and over HTTP so it would need explicitly rendered RSS.
