Do you have the Twitter Login product enabled under Hooks and Products -> Product Manager?

Have you filled in the Twitter API Key and API Secret values?

Also, the instructions on enabling FB seem outdated.

It states I need to select the 'website' app - but that doesn't exist, so which one do I need, please?

For Facebook, use this thread which should be current.

Nope... doesn't work for me. There is no 'website' app offering. It is as I posted above...

                It offers:

Account Kit, Facebook login, Audience Network, Analytics, Messenger, Webhooks, Instant Games, Marketing API, APP center, Web Payments, Instagram, Messenger Expression, Social Plugins, Sharing, Pages APIs, Instant Articles, Facebook Pixel, Workplace by Facebook, App link, App invites, App events & App ads.

                No mention of www.

Mind you, I've just spotted (and I'm sure it wasn't there yesterday) this message on the FB app dev page.

We are not reviewing apps at this time due to changes we are making to the Facebook Platform.

You need to click on "Facebook Login" before you can choose WWW.

You don't need to have your App reviewed unless you want to allow people to "Publish to Facebook". This is not necessary to allow Facebook Connect or the share button functionality.

Thanks Wayne, but I have to mention - that fairly important step is not mentioned on the current instructions.

Also, when I get to that step - the rest is nothing like the screen shots supplied.

Facebook updated their instructions in the last week. It takes us time to update ours every time they do so. They do not notify us when they make changes to anything on their platform.

Thanks Wayne, I don't mean to sound unappreciative - thanks for all you do

Oh, one last one - before all this will work - am I right in thinking I need to purchase an SSL (https)?

I've already purchased it in readiness - but just need to have it applied by my host.

I don't actually know if Facebook requires HTTPS for this particular functionality. They do for some and not for other APIs. However using HTTPS will generally benefit your site and Google gives search engine priority to sites using this. It will also future proof the site and provide a more secure environment for all of your users.

Sorry Wayne, I've posted elsewhere on this issue - can I copy those ones over to here to avoid confusion?

                            Apologies for mixing up threads

However, I'm still confronted by the below errors when attempting to login using twitter or facebook.

Yet, all sharing functions and such - work faultlessly - it's just the signup/login that has problems.

was supposed to be in this thread ... I blame it on being tired when I posted.

And in response to your comment on RUBE's thread, I have cURL 7.29 installed and enabled.
