How to remove avatar from channels and Sidebar ?
Is there a way through css_additional.css

If by "Sidebar" you mean the search modules, there are options to hide the avatar from the output of each module. You have to edit the modules.

For the Last Post information (I am guessing here on what you mean by channels), you can use CSS.

.lastpost-wrapper .avatar {display:none;}

The image will still be in the code and downloaded to the user's computer. The CSS just hides it.

Then you will need to inspect the element you want to remove in your browser and determine the code you want to hide and write the CSS for it.
