Articles: Renaming a category does not update it's URL

I created an Article Category based off 'Articles' as the parent. Then wanted to change the name, the name is changed in the category list but the URL does not change.

For instance:

From Admin CP>CMS>Category list - Create a new Article Category called 'test page' with Articles as it's parent.

It's URL is https://community.xxxxxxxx.co.uk/articles/testpage

It appears in the list of Categories in the Articles main page on the Forum and is in the AdminCP list under categories.

Go back into AdminCP and change it's name to something else, eg: page one

It changes everywhere except the URL which stays the same as it was (testpage). You would expect it to change to: https://community.xxxxxxxx.co.uk/articles/pageone

The only way to change the URL is to move all the content to a new Category with the name you want and delete the old one.

Is this how it is supposed to work? Seems a strange way to change the URL

The URL not changing is by design. You don't need to delete it though. To change the URL after renaming, go to the category, edit it in site builder, and as you save the page there is an option to alter the URL.

OK thanks Mark - another thing to add to my 'new thing I've learned today' list

While on the subject of Articles, the tools are there on the articles pages to move/delete etc. etc. (just the same as on forum posts) but the only place it gives to move them is into forum sections, you cannot move them between Article Categories from these admin/moderator options.

The only way to move them between Article Categories is via the Admin CP. Which is fine if you are an admin, but not if you are a moderator.

Is this also how it should work?

You can move Articles to a new category by clicking Edit in the footer of the Article and selecting the new category on the edit page.

You can mass move articles in the AdminCP under CMS -> Content List. Check the Articles that you want to move, select Move off the Action drop-down at the top and click Apply.
