I'm not entirely sure this is intended to work, effectively this is changing the content type and I don't believe it's supported at this time.

Are you saying it copies posts other than the ones you have ticked?

"Copy topic" will always copy the entire topic including all replies and comments, not just the first post.
Copy posts should only copy the posts you have 'ticked'.

is right, this option copies the whole topic including all replies.

Copy posts should only copy the posts you have 'ticked'.
even with this option the replies. are copied

Still not sure what you need help with. You provided some screenshots but no explanation of your problem or even what you're trying to achieve.
            1. When you copy a topic, all replies are copied by design.
            2. When you copy a post, its children are copied with it.
              • So if you copy the starter post, you're basically copying the topic.
              • If it is a non-starter reply and has comments, they go with it.

I understand that you can not just copy the topic without the replies!

I'm looking for a way to copy the topic (the first post) without replies

There isn't currently a way to do this.

Indirectly, you could copy all the replies except the first post, then rename if necessary. Reverse way about.

While this isn't a bug and within the design of the software, I can see how both use cases would be beneficial. I've created a JIRA here:
