  • Super Moderators cannot ban

I'm not sure why, but my Super Moderators aren't allowed to ban members. I have set Can Ban Users to Yes under Channel Management > Moderator Permissions. All Admins don't have this issue. Is there a setting that I'm forgetting?

    That should be sufficient.

Where are they trying to ban someone, and what happens when they try?

They don't have the option to ban in the Mod CP (I have) and the Automatic Ban option when giving a specific amount of infractions only results in that amount of infractions but no ban.

Hmmm my test user on my demo site seems able to ban in the modcp ok.

What do they see on this page?

Do the super moderators have any secondary user groups?
            If so, remove these.

No secondary user groups, just Super Moderator.

Probably going to need a support ticket and admin credentials then.
The feature works, so it's a permissions issue of some sort and we'll need to take a look.

I am having this issue now. I have a user set as primary group Super Moderator and no other group. He does not have any ban capabilities or options.

Any idea how this was ultimately resolved?

Edit: When I look at the Super Moderator permissions under Usergroup Manager, it doesn't have an option about banning users. Maybe there is somewhere else I need to look?

                  Channel management> moderator permissions

This has the option to choose the super moderator or moderator individually and give them ban permissions

For the life of me, I cannot find it there either.

If I drill into one of the Channels and click Super Moderator under that, there is nothing to do with banning on the list of permissions under Moderator permissions.

How strange, there is in ours.

Maybe we are not talking about the same place? I mean in the adminCP, down the left side there is a section called channel management. In there is the option of moderator permissions.

Then you see the names of all your moderators and you can edit their permissions

All moderator permissions are actually under Channel Management -> Moderator Permissions. You handle them on a user per user basis.
