.ataccess revision to Reset Timezone for shared server user

Hello,
I would like to reset my timezone with php server and godaddy gave me this scipt to insert into .htaccess file.
Would you please let me how to put the following script right?
I've tried putting the script either into the tag <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> and out of that tag but neither worked.

SetEnv TZ America/New_York

Please advise me.
