Integrating vBulletin with a WordPress website

Hi,

I have a question about integrating WordPress and vBulletin.

I have a WordPress website and a vBulletin forum. I had some code that automatically copied the menu from the website and incorporated it into the forum. Unfortunately this functionality is no longer being supported and it stopped working once I upgraded to WordPress 4.7.

Does anyone out there have something similar that is likely to be supported going forwards?

I can see the header in the forum looks the same as header on the main site.

Btw, the templates in your forum are heavily modified to add the custom header and the sidebar ads. This makes it hard to upgrade because for sure you will have template merge conflicts that you need to resolve every time you upgrade. I think you can add the custom header and sidebar ads using template hook system. With this solution, you don't have to worry about it on upgrades.

Although my initial question was quite simple there is some history on this site...

The website used to use a plug-in called "pixopoint" but sadly that hasn't been supported for years and eventually it got to the point where it was preventing further upgrades to WordPress. This plug-in extracted various "chunks" of code from the WP template and the vBulletin system was clever enough to incorporate them into the forum's template. I believe this is still working OK on the forum but as Pixopoint is no longer working the chunks of code are starting to get out of date. If you compare the menus on the website and forum you may notice some differences.

I could update the HTML chunks manually but I'm seeking an automated system.

As I inherited the support of the website and forum my detailed understanding of this technology is sketchy - although I'm gradually getting a better understanding.

I hope that clarifies the situation and helps someone identify a good solutions.
