    Cannot type in Private Messenger

I'm receiving multiple complaints from people saying they cannot type in private messenger. A screen shot from one particular member is attached. I tried using Chrome, Firefox, and Edge without issue. But others using the same browsers cannot type in it.

I have also tried clearing the site's cache, asking members to do this too in their browser, but I'm getting this report from users on mac and pc. Other members are fully able to use the private messenger. Right now I have three complaints reporting the above screen shot.

They may have a browser add-on that interferes with the page.

Ask them to check if there is a Javascript error on the console. While the chat popup is active, press F12 and click Console . Then reload the chat popup by pressing F5. Observe the Javascript console for any errors.

Thanks Glenn, I already asked members to disable any browser add-ons, and to try a hard refresh. Haven't tried asking them to check the console, it was difficult to instruct the mentioned basics to them already.

Also it'd be worth making sure they disable any ad blockers. Technically they are browser add-ons but not all users see them in that light.

I am able to replicate it. This is only occurring in user group other than Admin and mods which can use the messenger without issue. I checked the permissions but can't find a setting off for the specific group. The Js console says:

            pmchat.js (1,7362)

            Idle time: 9.454s. (timeout: 300s)

Nothing to load, awaiting first message.

The plot thickens, the group also cannot compose a private message through the inbox. It appears that the private messaging system is offline to these users as well as the instant messenger.

Please ignore: all fixed. The issues were channel permissions.
