If you save the problematic image as a PNG and upload it does the problem continue?

If you strip all the exif data out of the image and upload it as a JPG does the problem continue?

Can you make the problematic images available on Cloud Sharing like Dropbox or OneDrive? Uploading them here will fundamentally change the image. vBulletin will strip out the EXIF information and change the compression setting to 75%.

Please let me know if you need anything else. I have many more that fail to upload.

Thanks. Will check these out. Will try to get access to an IIS staging server or create one over the weekend.

What version of IIS are you using?
Do you have any other IIS extensions installed other than URL Rewrite?
Do you have data compression turned on in IIS?
If so do you have GD turned off in vBulletin?
What version of GD are you using?
Are you storing attachments in the database or file system?
What browser and version of that browser are you using?

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back on this. I've created an IIS (Fast CGI, PHP 7.1.1, and MySQL 5.7) staging site with vBulletin 5.2.6 RC1 and am not able to recreate this issue with the same image provided.Images are stored in the database on my staging site but that shouldn't matter as long as permissions are set properly on the server.

Thanks for looking into this Wayne. I still receive the error on 5.2.5 so should I upgrade to RC1?

Not sure if this is related, but I'm also running libPNG Version 1.5.26 so I downloaded the 1.6.28 zip. There isn't much documentation for upgrading on Windows. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You're uploading a JPG and it is being saved as a JPG. PNG would only be used for that image type. However, the site for libPNG is here: http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/

As for upgrading to 5.2.6 RC1, I recommend waiting until the release. However, you can install a test copy in a separate directory with a new database.

I'll wait for the release in that case. Thanks again.

Maybe... Maybe not. You need to create your own thread and link to the image that you're having the problem with.

It seems, that a few other customers have the same issue... VBulletin support can't reproduce it... But they changed something in picture upload mechanism.. Since then, it doesn't wok for us an longer. This is really a major feature of a community board... My Logged in user are increasing massevly... From day to day less logged in users...

No one is able to help us!?!? It's a shame for such a expensive - and best in market - community solution....

Should I shutdown my community? Should I change to another Board software?
WHAT SHOULD WE DO - before our heavy work for a big community is destroyed because of bugs in the software?

HELP US!!!!!! please!!!!!! Otherweise we wouldn't need Vbulletin anylonger because we don't have users which wants to use our boards
