I recently upgraded to 5.2.5 and started receiving this error on all image attachments and image uploads. The images are valid and within the size limits. Here are my settings and I've rebuilt all attachments. The upload diagnostic returns no errors either. Any idea what causes this?

Make sure you clear your browser cache and restart your browser.
There were changes to how attachments were handled in 5.2.5 and I've known browser caches mess this up.MARK.B

Thanks for the suggestion Mark. I just tried that (clear cache and restart browser) but the page displayed "Working" for a bit then failed with, "The file you are trying to upload is corrupted." Is there any other diagnostic info I can provide?Comment

Searching for that error message in the codebase led me to find out that it is caused by the security check being done on the image file. The system verifies the headers and exif data of the uploaded image for potential exploits and it looks like it is failing the check.
Try uploading a different image. Do you also see the same error when uploading here?Comment

sometimes I hate vbulletin updates and the silence from support team, with troubles after update. Ticket Team says: no support, try forum or buy support. Forum: no help for days and days and days.... ;(
I/we bought a expensive forum platform... I think it is not to much expected, to help us with issues after update, which vbulletin created by themself....
Arghhhssss... Not the first time, where I can't provide a profesional forum/quality to my visitors.....Comment

Are you seeing anything in your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host) when the image fails to upload?
Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

Hi, thank you for your response. We use a own windows server 2012. There is no eventlog or error log entry, which is created by this event.Comment

The file uploads ok here and on my test site so this isn't a bug in the software.
Is your temp file writeable?MARK.B
