    Problem with Spam Management

Site was either hacked or just neglected for a long time by the owner. Tons of SPAM. Discovered it when I reveived 10,000 error messages in my email. Trying to clean it but was having problems. Upgraded from 5.2.2 to 5.2.5.
    Having same problem:

Deleting the post, selecting Delete Topic, permanent, and ban user - no problem.
BUT if I select Delete all posts by this user, I get the following error from SPAM MANAGEMENT:

    Error:
    • An unexpected error was returned: 'MySQL server has gone away' (unexpected_error)
Going to be a VERY long day if I have to delete one post at a time - database is almost 5 GB (last backup in June was 61 MB - suspect all spam)

    Suggestrions would be great
    Thanx

That's a server issue. You will need to contact your hosts.

You should see if your hosts can increase the mysql wait_timeout value while you get this done. The queries are too intensive for the server to handle.

Still get error from spam management:

            Please try again.

Error information: " 200 parsererror SyntaxError: Invalid character"
