If emails are not working, you should run the email diagnostic function. AdminCP > Maintenance > Diagnostics > Email Test

If you get no error message, and receive the email, ALL EMAILS are being sent.

If you get an error, you need to tell us what that error is.

      I got this email:

You are receiving this email because your email address was entered as an email test at AffiliateForum.com :: Affiliate Forum.

The first step of this email test script has been completed. However, a formatting test is still necessary:

      A paragraph break.
      A single line break.

      Another paragraph break.
      Another single line break.
      Another single line break.

If the above lines look correct, you are finished. The email features on your server are setup correctly.
If this email is run together on one line, there is possibly a configuration error with your mail server. Please ensure it is configured correctly..

In that case, the emails are going out, and are most likely being blocked by the recipient's mail provider.

You can test this yourself by carrying out a test registration....you may need to enable multiple email addresses temporarily so that you can re-use your existing one for the test.

If its a hotmail.com, Outlook.com .live etc etc all the Microsoft emails. Then its your IP of your server that has been blocked. I'm going to guess this is a relatively new to you server. Speak with your ISP, and let them know your mails are being blocked. They will speak to whom they need to and get things sorted for you. hostgator and godaddy are some of the ISP's that have this issue.
I had this issue with hostgator and they solved in in approx 3 days for me.
Test a gmail account, should work. You'll see then its the above.
            Hope this helps.
