    Sending Newsletters to Members

    Hi all,
I am using the VB version 5.2.2 and I would like to introduce the newsletter feature for our members. Is there any provision available in this version or any other external plugin available which VB supports. Thanks

There is no newsletter facility in vBulletin. You can use 'send email to members' though, from the admincp. This does provide limited functionality to send emails to users.

Then it's time to import your newsletter in vb5, because vb 5 is more expensive than other forum software

vBulletin 5 already has Mass-Mailing functionality. Users -> Send Email to Users.

I can pretty much guarantee that the feature request linked above will never be implemented. It provides no details and just links to someone else's proprietary software. That isn't a good method to get anything implemented in the software. Instead we prefer to have all the data and request within the issue itself.

We'd be better off resolving https://tracker.vbulletin.com/vbulle...sues/VBV-13074.

I'll go one step further and suggest that newsletters are unsolicited spam under the GDPR and should therefore never be implemented as part of the core software.

It can be sent to users residing outside the European Union

Send Email to Users is batched and you can set options to only send it to people who want them.

can you also send it to HTML?

then remains the problem of sending 200,000, the server certainly falls

vBulletin emails are text only. Even if there was a "newsletter feature" right now, it would be text only. If you want to use email, then export your user list under Users -> Generate Mailing List and use a proper mail list utility like MailChimp or Constant Contact.

How are you sending the emails? With that many users, you should be using SMTP.
