Security error when upgrading to 5.23

After upgrading (maybe 5.05?) to 5.23 I'm getting this error when trying to get to admincp.

    Security Alert!

%1$s still remains in the /install/ directory.

This poses a security risk, so please delete that file immediately. You cannot access the control panel until you do so.

I might not have upgraded correctly. I downloaded 5.23 and then uploaded (overwrite) everything that was in the "upload" folder.

Homepage gives me an error as well... A System Error has occured.

The software is experiencing a systems error.

    Any ideas?

You do need to run the upgrade script.

After that you need to delete the install folder from with the /core/ folder.

This is more concerning than your other issue. However not enough information is being provided to solve the issue. Please answer the questions in this topic:

Every support request should be in its own topic. Do not take over the support topics posted by others. The only thing that happens when you do this is make it more difficult to receive support. Often times we get threads like: This type of question is very difficult to answer because it provides no real information.

Found the upgrade link that this one worked: http://example.com/core/install/upgrade.php

It's running now, I'll reply with more info if I can't get it from here. Thanks!

That is the standard upgrade link as defined in the documentation and in the vb5readme.html file.
