How to MERGE two threads into one?

Back in the days when VB was easy for everyone to follow & comprehend, admins & mods could select two separate threads then use a menu to merge the content into one single thread regardless how many replies each one had. So two similar threads about the same topic, one with 2 replies (3 total) and the other with 5 replies (6 total) could be made into 1 thread with a total of 1 initial post & 8 replies.

I can't find anything even close. There's merge posts, move topic, edit topic, etc. but no merge.

    VB 5.4.1 - PHP 7..2.4 - MySQL 5.5.56
No Addons - none at all.

You should be able to merge two topics into a single one using the Inline Moderation on the front end. You would use the "Copy Topic" option and it gives you the option to copy the posts to another existing topic.
