How to make email not mandatory during registration

In 5.2.3 it seems users must enter an email address, even in the admincp. Is there a way to turn this requirement off?

I believe its related to the log in using e-mail functionality - so turning that off might work (it certainly should work, if it doesnt, I'd consider it a bug myself).

That said, why would you not want every user to provide an e-mail ?

I will try that. Where is that setting?

      Good question.

This site is on an isolated intranet, for security reasons the users do not have access to nor need email connectivity since this forum is accessible at their workstation.

You can't turn it off. It doesn't have to be a legitimate email.

Well, in theory this seems like a good idea, however as site admin with my email in the "Email address of the webmaster." I get an email on every email that bounces.

If you're not using email then turn it off in the AdminCP under Settings -> Options -> Email Settings. Then no emails will be sent to bounce.

I'm not allowing users to use the email feature. I on the other hand am.

The funny thing is, is that this new account if for a vB tech to work on a ticket.

You can ask them for their email to use to create the account.
