Broken thumb of the attached document

I have created an article to which I attached a PDF file. In the articles list, a thumb of the document is supposed to be displayed, but what I get is a picture of a broken image. The URL of the borken image is:

http://www.mysite.com/filedata/fetch?id=53&type=thumb

How can I get the thumbs to display correctly?

This is a known issue and will hopefully be fixed in the future. Currently, there is no way to fix this.
