    Post approval

    Hi,

Often when a new member signs up, I have to approve their first post or couple of posts.
I have had a member join this week and he's made around 13 posts so far, maybe 10 of those 13 have had to be approved with the 3 that went live without approval being in the middle somewhere. His most recent ones still need approving. Any idea why this would be? My forum is finally starting to grow and get organic users and as a user, this would really put me off.

Any idea what's going on and how to solve it?

AdminCP > Channel Management > Channel Permissions
For each forum, select the relevant usergroup.
Set "Exempt posts from Spam checking" to "Yes".

If you haven't customised any permissions you should be able to do this on the "Forum" channel and it will cascade down (don't do it on the 'Home' channel).

Thanks for this question and the answer. I was having the same issue and was not familiar with the spam checking feature.

No other way of doing it? I don't want to disable spam check for the forum. I don't mind having to approve the odd post from new members, It's just this one new member it seem to always be flagging.

If it's incorrectly flagging then that is the only way to prevent it.

Is there no way of skipping spam checks for a certain usergroup or anything? Then I could just move any users I have issues with to a new group.

Yes, the permission I mentioned is a per-usergroup permission.

Oh ok, I get you now. I was thinking it was for everyone posting in each of those forums. I will take a look now, thanks
