Issues upgrading to vb5.2 from vb4.2.1 - Fatal error: Call to a member function fetch_userinfo

We are trying to upgrade our VB4.2.1 to VB5.2

PHP Version: 5.4.45
MySQL Version: 5.5.47
Browser: Chrome

Issue happens during upgrade procedure and displays the following error:

Have you refreshed the page? It often carries on past this error.

I can refresh the page and click ok and it seems to carry on past the error, but the error is just that, an "error". Does this mean that something will break down the line? I would rather fix the error than deal with issues when the site is live. Your thoughts?

No. You often get errors in an upgrade. If it carries on, let it carry on. You can't go backwards in an upgrade anyway.
