V-bulletin hacked while in "archive mode".

I work for a non-prof that had all its discussion board, that was extensive, put into an "archive mode". We have many other sites on the server. We thought our "hacking problem" would be over once we went archive but not so! Our other sites have been hacked THROUGH our archived board! Is there anyway we could extract our board and save it on a "archive only" server? Is there such a thing? We being paying customers should actually have v-board do this for us!!! Any help or advice would be helpful... So just because your board is in "archive Mode" it is NOT SAFE!!!

The only possible way that could happen is if you're suing the same username and password on both the domain and the root. My first recommendation is don't do that. Use a unique username and password combination for each account. My second recommendation is the archive the database SQL file and the server files locally to an external hard drive. Anything that is on a server can eventually be hacked with persistence.

vBulletin doesn't have an "archive mode", what exactly do you mean by that?
