    Forum Dropping Styles

This problem started around sunday with the default style dropping then it propagated to the other styles and then finally today the mobile style went down. I can still access the forum and people can still post but it is all wonky. I tried installing 5.1.8->5.1.9.1 but that didnt seem to fix it.

I thought it might also be a host side PHP or MYSQL problem.

    Im running from bluehosts.com

I had a similar issue when upgrading from 5.1.4 to 5.1.8 but fixed it by updating my PHP level from 5.2 to 5.4.

    This has me stumped.

Here is a picture of what it looks like.

Are you storing the CSS in the file system or database (check the option AdminCP > Settings > Options > Style & Language Settings > Store CSS Stylesheets as Files). If in the file system, is the directory chmod to 777? Try setting that to No and see if it fixes the issue.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

It is already set to no.

Store CSS Stylesheets as Files? NO

I can try setting it to yes, creating the directory and making sure it is writable.

Putting that setting to yes or no made no difference.

Are the styles contained in the database? Could this be a MYSQL error?

Anyone have any other ideas? The problem is clearly visible even if you don't register.

If I paid the 50 bucks for support would I be able to get help with this? Or would it just be a waste of money?

Your HTML appears to be missing a few lines of code specific to linking the css:
                The following links are missing from your HTML: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://alt-games-warbirds.com/css.php?styleid=18&amp;td=ltr&amp;sheet=css_sitebuilder.css&amp;ts=1446604471 " /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://http://alt-games-warbirds.com/css.php?styleid=18&amp;td=ltr&amp;sheet=css_b_config_site.css&amp;ts=1446604471 " /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://http://alt-games-warbirds.com/css.php?styleid=18&amp;td=ltr&amp;sheet=css_b_theme_selector.css&amp;ts=1446604471 " /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://http://alt-games-warbirds.com/css.php?styleid=18&amp;td=ltr&amp;sheet=css_b_module.css&amp;ts=1446604471 " /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://http://alt-games-warbirds.com/css.php?styleid=18&amp;td=ltr&amp;sheet=css_b_content_slider.css&amp;ts=1446604471 " /> <link class="js-additional-css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://www.militantegalitarian.com/css.php?styleid=18&amp;td=ltr&amp;sheet=css_additional.css&amp;ts=1446604471 " /> Are you using the default vBulletin themes?

Yes, I reverted everything to the default 5.1.9.1 theme and forced it as default to all users.

It is worth noting though that this issue popped up after the site ran fine since the 5.1.8 upgrade I did when it first launched. There was no change to any admin settings (I am the only admin) and no change to any files on the server until after the issue was visible for 3 days.

(I think) Its either a host PHP issue or maybe MYSQL database issue? But I cant see any problems with either of those things on the host.

Willing to take any shots in the dark though

Have you looked at the raw server logs for error messages? My concern is I could create more problems by guessing than I solve for you.

The only error in the log is when I switched the PHP to beta 5.6 but it when I reverted back to 5.4.x it stop posting. The only error before that is in Aug and is unrelated.

The current issue with the style/css is not throwing any errors on in the error_log.

I am so angry right now (with myself).

I just backed up and deleted the css.php file and had it rebuild it. All the CSS formating / style are back. The problem is though that this file says it was not modified since 5/20/2015. Why would it all of a sudden stop working when nothing changed?

p.s. Thank you so very much for trying to help me Lynne and ProSportsForums. I really can not express my gratitude enough for your help. Even though neither of you fixed the problem you pointed me in the right direction and just having someone to talk to and get ideas from was extremely helpful and relieved much of the frustration.

So again, thank you very much for the help.
