Install location the same, changing default url however breaks the site

    Hi Everyone -

I finally have my vBulletin (5.1.8) configured but in lieu of overriding the old location I set them up on a different domain that I have, Now I'm ready to change the URL to override the old, but when I do that through Site Name/ Contact/ URL setting, it seems to break the site, all styles disappear and it goes haywire. The install location has not moved, just looking to change the url. Is this possible? Any tips on this? Thanks in advance!!

It will look for the files at the location specified. If they don't exist, they won't get loaded. How are you accessing the files from your new location? Are there redirects in play?

No redirects in play. it's the same directory on the server I just want to change the url from http://forums.gowgaming.org to http://forums.gowgaming.com every other back end aspect of it should stay intact (for instance both site right now you can use the http://gowgaming.org/forums/ or http://gowgaming.com/forums/ directory, they are the same). It's a minor detail but it's something that I thought would have changed over much easier than it did. I was able to revert it to the original .org and the site is working again from that url at least. I'd like to scoot it over, Also THANK YOU that was a super fast reply!
