Simple question. How do I sort my channels this way?

For the life of me, I haven't been able to figure this out despite numerous attempts. The last time I changed things around, I messed up my channels and it was difficult to fix. I can only seem to create sub-forums.

I just want my channels to appear under one header, just like you guys have on the forum here. Like this:



This is what I have now. I want them all grouped together:





I know this must be simple and it feels silly but I've tried everything!

You need to have a category (Act as channel set to "No") with each sub-channel parented to that category.
