    Something like that - you can see it in action on this demo site from one of the Support staff, Mark:

    - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s) (vB6)

      Yep, mine is an example of what you can do with it.

      By default, it will pull the last five "Featured" topics. If there is an image attached to the topic, that image will be used as the background for the slider for that entry. If there's no image, it shows a generic background.

      So, to use it, drag a content slider module to wherever you want it to show. Then go in feature some topics with images, then clear the system cache, and the slider should populate.

      You can play with the search JSON string to make it show other topics, but featured topics is probably the best use of it, otherwise it's harder to control what appears.

        Mark,

        I'm trying to use this Content Slider. If you (or someone) can help with this.

        Using the default search setting in the module
        {"featured":1,"sort":{"created":"desc"}}

        I only have ONE topic marked as Featured (http://www.tlplanet.com/forum/main-f...ac-daddy-s-tlr).

        The topic has pictures in it (linked) but they are not showing in the slider as a background of the slider. Do the pictures need to be attached as opposed to linked? If yes, any way to display linked pictures?

          It will use the first attached image. There is no way to used linked images at this time.

            can you please explain the search setting. I get nothing with this one : {"featured":1,"sort":{"created":"desc"}}

            and with that : {"test":1,"sort":{"created":"desc"}} i get an error message, that search is to unspecific or to much results... confusing

              You should use:
              {"featured":1,"sort":{"created":"desc"}}

              Then, you need to feature some threads with attached images. That string pulls featured threads into the slider.

                ok, understand. The thread must be "featured" in German it is "Thema hervorheben".

                Its working

                  I've created a test thread with a picture attached (http://www.tlplanet.com/forum/tlplan...th-attched-pic) and featured it. The slider picks it up but doesn't show the picture (granted, a small one) in the background.

                  I've also tried to attach a picture in an existing thread. Neither pulls the picture.

                  Am I missing something?

                  This is on a vbCloud with 5.1.6.

                        oh for one thing u may need to be sure you put the image at the beginning at the first post...idk thats just what i did...then the author can easily update the images for the slideshow which is nice...

                        one thing i wish however!!

                        to adjust the speed of the rotation???

                          I have all the pictures named, all the same size, all attached, but the majority will not display the picture.

                          I have also cleared system cache.

                          What else is there to troubleshoot?

                            are you putting the image at the beginning of the post? fwiw for mine, i am attaching about a 1000x750 image and using the medium inline attach...works perfect everytime, and im not even clearing cache

                              Yes, its in front of the text, pic size is smaller, and i too use the medium size.
