Is there any easy way to understand Iframes?

I am not sure what they are used for or how to use them.
If possible, could I be pointed to an Iframe example somewhere as explanations are often and mostly difficult to understand.

iFrames are used to load external documents into an existing page. They are a standard HTML tag that has been around for many years now. Since HTML 2.0.

Ok, thanks for that, what I now understand is that an Iframe is used to put 1 HTML document into another?
