How to change VB5 directory after doing an upgrade from VB4

Is it possible to change VB5 directory after I have upgraded from VB4? I would like to change it into ./forum instead of ./vb5 but my programmer told me that its not possible because there have been database entries made which are not possible to change. Is this true? or is there some work around for this?

First edit the three URL settings in the admin cp to reflect the proposed location.

Then, rename the /vb5 folder to /forum.

It's important to do them in this order, and immediately one after the other.

Just in case something goes wrong and I lock myself out, can you please tell me which entries in phpmyadmin I should edit?

Its rather complicated since not only do you have to edit the entires you'll also have to manually fiddle with the cache settings. We don't advise it.

            Yep...glad it worked.

For anyone else doing this...as long as you are careful to edit the three URL settings correctly, you won't lock yourself out.
