Change Width of Site

I am trying to change the width of the site, but can't seem to figure out how.

I've gone to "styles and templates" , "style manager", "style variable editor", and altered the "doc_maxWidth" to my desired width, and then put the "doc_margin" to auto, but there is no change.

This worked in vb4, but it does not seem to work in vb5.

Is there something else I should be doing? Can anybody help me out on this?

Those stylevars are not valid in vBulletin 5 and have no effect.

The width is controlled by this:

#wrapper {
  max-width: 1200px;
  min-width: 320px;
  width: 100%;
}
#wrapper {
  background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFF;
  margin: auto;
}

You need to change it in your css_additional.css. I suggest not removing the min-width statement or the style will probably break on cellphones and other small screen devices. Make sure to test your changes on a variety of window sizes to make sure the responsive aspect still works properly.

Once again, you've answered the question I was going to ask. My 5.6.6 upgrade was not rendering correctly on my cellphone. I added the wrapper code and now it's fixed.

One thing, though. The maxwidth of the site worked. I made it 990px. But now the sign-in and the footer copyright section are out of wack as shown below:




How do I go about aligning those 2 elements to match my new max width of the site?
