Flagged posts are not moved to any forum. A flag notification is received in the message centre.

The setting you refer to is obsolete in vB5, however even in vB4 it never moved any posts. That would cause chaos, with any member being able to effectively delete any posts they didn't like just by flagging them. The setting referred to the forum the report notifications went to, but this facility has been replaced by the message centre.

So why do we choose a forum for reported posts in admincp-post reporting options?

As mentioned, it's an obsolete setting from vB4, but it was never about moving reported posts to a forum anyway....it used to generate a reported post notification in the specified forum. The actual post being reported was not touched. It would be madness to give every user the ability to effectively delete posts they didn't like by moving them to an hidden forum. It is not functionality we would ever want in the software.

Notifications are also not generated in the related forum.

As I said, the setting is obsolete and will be removed in a future version. Notifications will not appear in any forum.

Notifications appear in the message centre under "Flag Reports", you'll get a red notification indicator at the top of every page when one is pending.
