It seems like it's been over three years since this problem has been brought to light. What's the hold up on getting it corrected? The fact that the VB5 admin CP supports this functionality but that there's no way for members to join a group is absolutely absurd. -

Can you tell us what to do in vB5 to add that interface as a tab in user setting page ? We do relay on that functionality to be able to use vB5.This entire interface is missing from vBulletin 5 even though the Public (Joinable) Usergroup functionality is available in the Admin CP. This interface needs to be added as a Tab on the end-user's setting page.Leave a comment:

Public (Joinable) Custom Usergroups
Where is the link in vBulletin for users to join these usergroups? I can't find the area where this is located. Also, is there a way to enable another usergroup to approve the requests for this a certain public usergroup (Not having access to AdminCP).

In vBulletin 4.x, I think I remember that there was a way to generate a link that could be used to send people a private invitation to register/join a private secondary usergroup. I don't think it required... -
