Can you try re-downloading the ZIP file from the Members Area and re-upload all files (except config.php.bkp, core/install/install.php and core/includes/config.php.new) making sure you overwrite all files currently on your server.

    Does this resolve the problem?

parse errors usually means a typo
is this on a new install
      an upgrade
or have you touched the files?
double check and make sure your config file is setup correctly and values are between the ticks ''

and if I copy it to ms word and count it it says line 71 is this:
        71. // moderator control panels reside in. You may wish to do this for security purposes.

I believe I resolved this for you, your config.php file was edited in place it shouldn't have been.

im kinda wondering could it be my computer adding stuff as well possibly.... that may be effecting stuff upon uploading if possible because all I am using is word or ms word to edit I refreshed and now getting this eror message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function fetch_userinfo() on a non-object in /home/bandirec/site.net/vbdemo/core/vb/api/user.php on line 650
because basically what I do is just copy and past where the info says it needs to go and I thought I was filling in the information correctly ??? I mean I know this shouldn't be that difficult

installer ran.... and it went ok no error messages but if you go to the main page where you log in it shows up but the page says :
That action could not be completed. Please try again, and if this occurs again please contact the system administrator and tell them how you got this message.
also if you try to access the admin cp as I did it drops down but its not the log in screen

its like showing the main page in the log in screen
