    Error 2

Had a few problems with permissions on the install, which was sorted (eventually).

We've now got a fresh problem with showing:

    • Error description: 2
    • The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the includes/config.phpfile

I assume this is down to some error in the config files. I've checked everything and it all matches us.

I did, however, notice a tool somewhere that automatically checks this? I've now lost the link to this.

I've searched the forum and each case seems to be different in solving this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Perfect! Thank you.

      Installation is now running perfectly.

      Spoke too soon.

Everything looked ok on the install, then went to log in to control panel and nothing appears. Just white space

Now I can log onto the CP but can't view the site homepage down to a 403 forbidden error.

Could anybody suggest what may be happening? I'm a complete novice at this.

I've started to notice that the forum may not be installed correctly.

For some reason the cp is only accessible at /forum/core/admincp/ NOT at /forum/admincp/

      I think this is wrong?

What did you enter for AdminCP > Settings > Options > Site Name/URL/etc > Forum URL? It should end with /core

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Apologies, it does have all that in too. Not really sure what I've done.

Maybe give it a little while, then try a refresh of the page. I have noticed odd things seeming to go away given 30 minutes or so.

And do you have the urls correct in the presentation config.php file?
