This is one of many reasons why we recommend not using GoDaddy for hosting.
Without more information on their requirements, we wouldn't be able to recommend changes. You cannot use vBulletin 5 without mod_rewrite and the .htaccess files provided work on a multitude of other server configurations. GoDaddy would be the outlier and they would need to provide us with the proper guidance on what needs to change.Translations provided by Google.

"I understand you are asking about the error on your site and vBullenin 5. You are able to use Mod_Rewrite on your hosting account and you do have full access to the .htaccess file. We do not have many requirements on our hosting as along as you dont go over the server permissions on the hosting account." GODADDY
i still dont understand anything about the problem and troubleshooting...Comment

Find another hosting company. One that is recommended by the vb users on this forum.
Usually good hosting companies have a 2 weeks of use for free in order to test their services. My advice is to check such companies and decide on one of them.Comment

Install it in a sub-forum of your main site and see if it works properly.
I would like to point out that all of our staging installations used by QA are on sub-domains though without problems.Last edited by Wayne Luke; Sun 30 Sep '12, 9:51am.Translations provided by Google.
