    Black YouTube thumbnail

    Hi there,

I just installed a new VB5 (5.1.2 patch level #3) on our servers and tested out the youtube video feature. If we use BBCode, it will display the thumbnail just fine but if we use the "post link" button, the video will show up with a black thumbnail and a play button (picture). Is our settings wrong in some way? What can we do to display the thumbnail?

Let me know if you need other info about this problem.

    Thanks!!

        Sounds similar to this:

Though that was fixed in 5.1.2.

Can you replicate it on this site?

I requested to reopen the bug. Also, we upgraded to 5.1.3 and the problem is still there.

Probably better, in truth, to open a new one. You can reference the old one though.

I suspect the thing here is that the problem is with videos posted as link content types. Possibly we fixed the standard embedded ones, but not the link content types.

I always had Black YouTube thumbnails. Just now I realized that that is actually an error. But at least i could click on it and it was working. Now, after upgrading to 513 it is not possible to even click on it. how can i fix it please?

Put the site in debug mode and rebuild video bbcodes from the admincp.

In 5.1.3 I am occasionally seeing a black picture come up after I click a thumbnail; thought it was a mod I was trying but it still happens occasionally even after I disabled the hook for the plugin.

How do I "put the site in debug mode" and what should I rebuild to resolve a problem with pictures as opposed to videos?

If your videos are actually playing ok, you don't need to worry about debug mode.

The black background to videos is a known issue, it doesn't happen on all setups though, or even all the time.
