    Access masks don't work

    Hello,
one of the most values in vBulletin is the access masks feature. I install vB 5.1.2 P3 and mark the option to use access masks and ... don't work . And really I need this - this feature is very useful to prevent open a lot of usergroups.

I search in Jira and the problem was not solved in previous versions.

    Any solution?

    All the best

This is a known issue. I am not sure that Access Masks will return as they often complicate permissions and make sites more difficult to manage.

What are you trying to achieve with them?

      Thank you for your reply.

I need to setup a new project and this project needs privacy in each foruns, example:
      - Forum 1 - Company A - staff Company A access ok ; this staff only access forum A
      - Company B - staff Company B acess ok - but they only see Company B forum,
      - Company C ... etc etc. More tham 1.000 foruns each one with 3 or 4 technicians

      - Using access masks I don't need create 1.000 usergroups [I still create more than 1.000 foruns].
Without access masks I will create more than 1.000 usergroups and I will need setup one by one ...

      thank you for any advice

How many more than a 1000? Because the software takes a massive nose dive after a more than 500~ or so, and the limit is around 2000 in vB3/4 and we've seen someone get up to around 3000~ on 5, but the application was insanely slow.

This limits is about forums or usergroups [or both]?

I will need +/- 1500 forums and same number of usergroups.
