VB5 is going to use whatever version you have set in Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details If you have https URLs those are what are going to work.

That is something you generally configure with the webserver, and not the application. Force users into https with .htaccess/rewrite rules for your webserver software.
