Go to any thread.
Click "Edit Site" then "Edit Page" in the top bar.
Click the pencil icon on the "Conversation Detail Module".
Select "Edit Module"
Change "Results per Page" to the value required.
Save all the way back out.
This will change all threads, not just the one you are editing.
